Trefor Williams is the founder of Milwaukee Metropolitan Voices. His vision for MMV is to see a truly impressive group of singers, both professional and amateur, performing to a high standard the many popular works known all over the western world. "The old adage - folks know what they like, and like what they know - rings very true to me" said Trefor Williams, MMV's Musical Director and founder, "and my plan is to give singers the opportunity to sing, and audiences to hear melodic, harmonic music. Most of our performances will be of music that is well known: Music that does not necessarily make your mind enquire and analyze, but moves your soul and provides an escape from the stress and routine of everyday life."… "I hope that MMV will provide an opportunity for singers of all ages, race and gender. Amateur and professional singers are welcomed as members of MMV. Young adult singers in particular are encouraged to join, as the group gives excellent opportunities for those wishing to gain public singing experience, or are embarking on a singing career as soloists. Please schedule an appointment here if you are interested. As the chorus progresses we hope to offer paid positions to our current professional singers and to others who are interested in joining MMV. I hope that we will provide an opening and stage for those who have so much music to share." Raised in “the land of song” Trefor Williams moved to Milwaukee from Wales, Europe in 1999. A conductor of choirs both here in the USA and in his Welsh homeland, Trefor Williams has committed much of his life to music. On stage since the age of 4, Trefor Williams is also a bass-baritone much sought after in Welsh American circles throughout the USA, and of whose singing festivals he is a specialist and acknowledged leading conductor.
